Wyness sinks rivals
Peterhead extended their advantage over East Stirling at the bottom of the Scottish Third Division with a 1-0 victory.
Dennis Wyness grabbed the winner 10 minutes before the break when he latched on to Scott Ross' header before firing home from six yards.
The hosts were largely in control from the outset and should have led after just 14 minutes but Roy McBain scuffed his shot wide from close range.
They continued to press and eventually got their rewards when Wyness notched his first goal of the season.
The win means the Blue Toon move seven points clear of their opponents, who remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table having played two extra matches.
