Stenhousemuir off the bottom with win at Peterhead
Rory McAllister's own goal and Jamie McCormack's strike lifted Stenhousemuir off the foot of the Scottish League One table courtesy of a 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Peterhead
Stenhousemuir started brightly as Peterhead goalkeeper Fraser Hobday was forced to keep out efforts from Alan Cook and Mark Gilhaney, while at the other end Colin McCabe saved well from James Stevenson and James Redman to keep the scores level at half-time.
McCabe was the busier of the two goalkeepers after the interval as he denied Nicky Riley and the home side's failure to take their chances came back to haunt them when McAllister diverted into his own goal from Cook's floated corner after 70 minutes.
Hobday was able to keep out Colin McMenamin's free-kick, but could do nothing to stop McCormack, whose thunderous strike from inside the area found the top corner to ensure Stenhousemuir moved above Stranraer and into ninth, one place and one point behind Peterhead.
