Peterhead V Berwick at Balmoor Stadium - Match Preview

Peterhead defender Scott Ross returns to contention for the home game with Berwick following a two-game ban.

The Blue Toon, looking to bounce back from their 3-2 Scottish Cup defeat to Highland League side Deveronvale, could also be without Ryan Strachan, who had his tonsils removed last week, while Dean Cowie is doubtful with an ankle injury.

Manager Jim McInally has also ruled out injured pair Graeme Sharp and Davie Ross.

McInally said: "We had a horrific 20 minutes last week and have no-one to blame but ourselves as everyone was waiting for a performance to happen as opposed to making one happen.

"We have the chance to put that behind us with a good home performance and a good result against Berwick."

Berwick will be without injured defenders Dene Droudge and Marc Lancaster for their long trek.

Striker Darren Lavery is included in the squad after overcoming a chest infection as Berwick chase their first away point of the season.

Manager Ian Little said: "Our two away games so far this season have produced disappointing results, so we want to put that right at Balmoor.

"It will not be easy as they will be looking to make someone suffer for their Scottish Cup disappointment and we need to ensure that it's not us.

"We lost ourselves up at Deveronvale last season so we know how it feels. We also know how much you want a win to recover, so we'll need to be on our guard."
